Topka: The Second World
The people Taiowa and Sotuknang had chosen to start over again "listened carefully to their instructions."
They were "to go to a certain place" guided by the vibratory center of their head, and "this inner wisdom will give you the sight to see a certain cloud, which you will follow by day, and a certain star which you will follow by night." They were to take nothing with them and their "journey will not end until the cloud and the star stops."
They needed nothing but their inner wisdom to guide them and the guiding star is an inner star which stops when a certain point is reached, a time to reflect until "the cloud" of unknowing evaporates. This is confirmed in the next paragraph: some poeple couldn't see the vapor/cloud and star because "they had lost their inner vision."
"So all over the world the chosen people suddenly disappeared from their homes and people and began to follow the cloud by day and the star by night. Many other people asked them where they were going and, when they were told, laughed at them . "We don't see any cloud or star either!" they said. This was because they had lost the inner vision of the kopavi on the crown of their head. The door was closed to them. Still there were a few people who did see the cloud and the star. This was all right."
The chosen people "all over the world" left suddenly, were they all guided by the same external cloud and star? The people wandered day and night, arrived at a certain place, others came to the same place and ask "them" what they were doing there, to which they answered that Sotuknang told them to go there. "The other people said, "We too were led her by the vapor and the star!" They were all happy together because they were of the same mind and understanding even though they were of different races and language."
Some things are repeated over and again intendet to catch what is being said, or White Bear wouldn't repeat himsef.
When all were at that certain place Sotuknang appeared and told them he was glad all the chosen people were here to be saved from the "destruction of this world", the first Tokpela, and said : "Now come with me."
"He took them to a big mound where the Ant People lived, stamped on the roof, and commanded the Ant People to open up their home. When an opening was made on top of the anthill", Sotuknang told the people that followed him to "enter the Ant Kiva" where they "will be safe" while he destroys the first world. They should learn from the Ant People who are industrious, "gather food in the summer for the winter, keep cool when it is hot and warm when it is cool. They live peacefull with one another" and "obey the plan of Creation."
So the chosen people "went down to live with the Ant People", and after they had settled in, "Taiowa commanded Sotuknang (remembering the the latter was "the first power and instrument as a person in endless space) to destroy the world. Sotuknang destroyed it by fire because the Fire Clan had been it's leaders. He rained fire upon it. He opened up the vulcanoes. Fire came from above and below and and all around until the earth, the waters, the air, all was one element, fire, and there was nothing left except the people safe inside the womb of the earth.
This was the end of Tokpela, the First World."
A bit of mish/mash here. As I metioned before, Tokpela was the purple planet Vulcan which self-destructed by its own weight or by psychic/psychologial fire because Hephaistus, chief of this Fire Clan here, the Vulcans,("of pure reason") turned the furnice up to high, so Sotuknang took the people to the Ant People to learn how to keep cool when it is hot, and "warm" when it is cool. It is the long long story of our physical and mental developement from "endless space", Vulcan was no longer welcome in the heavens because he was "lame" and was a long time in falling "drooped from the zenith like a falling star" and landed "On Lemnos, the Aegean isle." Vulcan is the Hiram Abiff of the Masons, an unattractive character, with his "molten sea", and in the Bibles Tubal-Cain.
But before the earth came the moon, our former home, where the industrious Ant People lived, and from whom the First People "learn a lesson", Sotuknang tells them. Why would the First People, who were "pure" and had "pristine wisdom", have to learn from the next, the Ant People? Because we were "firming and forming" our composite constitution to be able to live in the solidified world of the twin "on the right of Spider Women." Again. the First World is space, the second, third, and fourth, ours, represent the inner planets of our solar system.
Another version of the Ant People is given by Gurdjieff, instructed by Eastern Adept and the Sufis, and "the esteemed Mullah Nassr Eddin", or common sense. He speaks as Beelzebub to his grandson or posterity:
"There is still another planet, a quite small one, bearing the name Moon" in our solar system.
During its motion this peculiar little planet approached very near to our planet Mars (also one of the inner planets) and sometimes during whole "Kilprenos'(of Kronos or time) I took great pleasure in observing through my 'Teskooano' in my observatory the process of existence of the three-brained beings upon it. Though the beings of this planet have very frail 'planetary bodies,' they have on the other hand a very 'strong spirit' owing to which they all possess an extraordinary perseverance and capacity for work.
In exterior form they resemble what are called large ants; and, like these, they are always bussling about, working both on and within their planet."
Industrious like the Ant People of the Hopi, and likewise living "underground" due to abnormal climate conditions, sometimes so cold that everything froze and it became impossible to even breathe, and sometimes so hot that an egg could be cooked in its atmosphere, adds Gurdjieff. But the Ant People of the Hopi knew how to "keep cool when it was hot" and vis-a-vis, kept a cool head.
During two of our earth years, says Gurdjieff, the ant people "tunnelled', so to say, the whole of their planet", and the "results" of this "ceaseless activity are now already plainly visible." Said a perceptive person, "the moon is hallow", another Swiss Cheese, and during some days it looks like a round cloud we can see right through. Obviously, the moon is a dead planetary body because its spirit left he he to our planet earth, the fourth, but it remembers its fromer home and pulls on the oceans when it is full and has the most power, wolfs howl at it, and people become lunatics, and so on the superstitions.
Much of this the Hopi tell in "the emergence to the second world."
