Dilmun the fabled Sumerian eden is also described
as being the land where the sun sets in babylonian stories
it is described as being where the sun rises in sumerian stories
it is described as the underworld because obviously it is under the known world
i thought that quite simple to understand.
smiling smiley
if you like i could start posting selected highlights from sumerian texts that back all this up
saying that theres no evidence that this journey ever oucoured places the ball firmly back in Sitchens corner
the sumerians knew there was another continent to the east
the babylonians knew it was to the west
this is only possible if someone travelled to it towards the east across the pacific island chains along the 30th parallel where all the legends of the indigenous tribes record this and then returned to Sumer by carrying on in the same easterly direction.

the best source on earth for tin at this time was right near lake titicaca
where tin mines have been found mined out in the late neolithic period.
the sumerians didn't value gold very much as their economy was based on silver
which goes someway to explaining why the locals later had gold in abundance

And really
come on now
the depiction of the sumerian tree of life is clearly a coca bush

its the right height the right shape and has yellow flowers as stated in the gilgamesh story
it is clear that Gilgamesh was never a king of Uruk but then captain nemo was never a captain of a submarine but that doesn't mean that both captains and submarines are purely mythological
the sumerian texts are described as myths when in reality they are contempory texts
theres been no handing down through the generations that twist the usual mythological stories that we all know so well
they are as they were written when the events described unfolded
and anyone attempting to debunk that fact would do well to actually read them first and then and only then attempt to answer the question

the fact that the gilgamesh story describes south america so well as being across a vast sea debunks totally the idea that the cedar forest is in the lebanon as orthodoxy suggests
theres plenty of cedar forests in peru

another reoccuring theme in sumerian texts is the mountain range where both lapis lazuli silver and cornelian are found in abundance.
the Sumerians called the mountain where Upnapishtims temple was located red snake mountain
when the area around titcaca is literally crawling with red tailed boa

large red snake very noteworthy
and the dragon boats of titicaca are identical to those used by the sumerian civilisation
in both their construction and their outward design

were it just one facet of these myths that matched America i would agree its just a coincedence but in every story of the underworld or dilmun or the netherworld as it is sometimes called there is more and more evidence that describes what can only be south america
The fact that the sumerians settled in areas of marshland where they could find supplies of both reeds for boat building and clay for temple building is lost on most as insignificant

this isn't a theory i thought of and then found the facts to fit
its is a theory arrived at by studying all the facts first
or perhaps you can explain to me just why the sumerian winged disc and that of the mesoamericans are almost identical

remember now that Quetzcoatl is described as being bearded and white skinned in most tribal myths and also as coming from the east on a boat and bringing with him civilisation
and why perhaps they aligned their buildings in the same northeasterly direction

trust me on this one
it has nothing whatsoever to do with venus

" We have, after all, recovered bodies not only of regular burials and sacrifices but now have bodies of the rulers who were found buried in the pyramids. "
how many bodies
and from what period
iirc the normal claims that the populations were in excess of 30,000 people.
and i'm not saying that the sumerians settled the land for centuries
the sumerians texts themselves say less than 180 years
and the fact that this habitation ended in 3421 bce when a huge storm hit the region and washed away all their crops leading to mass starvation and death by drowning in low lying regions would tend to point to the fact that you're unlikely to ever find any bodies with middle eastern features.
If this is too difficult for you guys to get your heads round then i'll save the real evidence for another time
