As an example what you need to do is to compare Smyth's measurements of the block sizes in the King's Chamber that appear as charts in his Three Volume "Life and Work" with the data of the West Wall in Maragioglio & Rinaldi's drawings.

M&R are wrong and Smyth is right. I'm frankly a bit puzzled by this but I've laid drawings produced from Smyth's measurements and M&R's drawing over my own photograph and M&R's drawing of the joints are wrong for the middle two rows.

I've been doing some drawings recently and have been puzzling over this again especially as Dormion has the same error. Dormion's drawings have the reputation of being the most accurate produced but they seem to be partly based on M&R and have copied errors from them. Other of his drawings are unique though but it's unsettling to see errors.

If I didn't have my photograph I'd probably trust the more recent work but Smyth got it right and these are measurements Petrie didn't do so Smyth is the best source.
