It’s a friendship myth told by a bunch of friends around a dinner table.
The 3 great ancestors of Greece were Atlas, Deucalion, and Io. Two are in the story. The Argive princess goes to Egypt to marry an Egyptian man. She founds a colony, which survives for 5 generations. Beitak found this moon goddess. She’s Aahotep (Aah meaning moon). The location is Alexandria(Canopus). Solon went there (“on the shores of canopus” --Plutarch). Plato went there too. That’s how he knew what it looked like. Pythagoras went there, that’s why all the math stuff is in the tale. The tale was finished, “Zeus spoke thus” means “Gods Honest Truth”.
Aeolus is Atlas. Prometheus -> Deucalion -> Hellen -> Aeolus. Prometheus is a pottery God. Just like Khonsu. Diodorus calls him a governor of Egypt. Prometheus stole the fire… Deucalion’s wife was named fire(Pyrrha).
There was a factor of 10 error as well. And the Atlantians were never the bad guys. The bad guys go unnamed. This gets garbled. Why would the magical people be bad guys? And Phaethon was an Athenian descended from Cecrops. The Atlas/Aeolus(wind) vs. Shu(wind) connection is neat. Shu has his hands up like he wants to give someone a hug.
********
There is a hidden message in the myth.
The women are missing. The wife of Amasis was a Greek woman. The wife of Danaus was named Atlantia. The wife of Zeus was Io.
********
The myth is told by an Egyptian PRIEST to a Greek man. "[22b]... O Solon, Solon, you Greeks are always children"
...
"110a...In this way, then, the names of the ancients, without their works, have been preserved... most of those names...[110b]of the various heroes... and in like manner also the names of the women." Those are the kinds of people you want to go to battle for.
The analogy is remembering your old high school. It’s the childhood friends that made it a magical place. The girls you lost touch with when you left. That you don't remember much more than their names. Don't remember all the good times, the noble deeds. The friends that you care about the most.
Friendships create better people, like Pythagoras. Better places like Naucratis. There was a hidden meaning in the myth. And the solution to finding the place came from: finding the missing women. The pleiades as well.
