EUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I signed up for facebook a couple weeks ago... emotional rollercoaster.... I've finally found the meaning to this myth.
I hit a crisis point, a couple of years ago. What happens if I actually solve this myth. Find a real place. Do I remove a magical place from this world?
Troy was a magical place. It was found. It is still a magical place. So, I continued on.
You're going to love this Don Barone.

If Atlantis is the ideal place... and it gets destroyed by the Athenians at war... and then the Athenians get destroyed by a flood... then What's the point? What a terrible myth!!!!!!
I've always argued that it's a garbled myth. You can see that in the posts above.
*****************
So what's the point of the myth then?
I have argued that it's IO that goes to Egypt and marries an egyptian. The 3 great anscestors of Greece are IO, Deucalion, and Atlas.
This story was told by an EGYPTIAN PRIEST, to a greek man, Solon.
I have argued that this myth relates to the marriage of a greek woman IO to an egyptian man. That this is a garbled myth. Why put bronze walls on a place that is destroyed. Why have 10 city kings decide to go to war together, only to lose.
******************
So what is the meaning then? Why is this the greatest retained, greatest discussed Greek myth? 50,000 theories?
It's a friendship myth. It's about the friendship between the Greeks(Athenians) and the Egyptians. Diodorus knew this. He said the Athenians helped build Sais. Or rebuild Sais.
The Egyptians remembered the names of the Athenian Kings. Why was that?
******************
The Atlantians were the good guys, as argued above. The bad guys are unnamed. It got garbled a bit.
Atlantis was the Greco-Egyptian society.
The myth is about the friends you make. The friends you keep. This creates better people. better societies. The myth is about this amazing place, called Atlantis. A place with Greeks and Egyptians. A wonderful place, that got destroyed by a flood. That the Athenians forgot about.
It's the people you meet. The friends you keep. The people that shape your life. The Girls and the Boys. That's the meaning of the Atlantis myth. Not a war-myth, but a friendship myth. That's why the tale is unfinished. Who wants to hear a war-myth. That wasn't the point.
