Have you actually read the Atlantis myth? Critias 120D-121 describes how the Atlanteans shared the wisdom and forbearance of their divine ancestors. But, eventually, the divine part of their nature died out, and they succumbed to greed: whereupon Zeus decided to punish them. Hence the destruction of Atlantis ...

I repeat: do you have an Egyptian reference for Pythagoras? A reference, not from Greece, but from Egypt itself?
