I really don't know his work well enough to comment. But ultimately there really are no "new" ideas. They are all merely repackaged, mixed, matched, and blended in "new" ways. I know nothing he has written or said that warrants the name calling. Even those calling names have cited nothing that is provocative.
I do have some respect for your opinion but have no first hand knowledge nor much to base my own opinion of his work. While my own theory looks wholly alien to almost every observer in every field the simple fact is that there is absolutely nothing that is "new". I get called far more names than Graham Hancock.
If the doctrine and status quo are too weak to stand against the truth than that is a problem for the status quo and not for Hancock. If he isn't politically incorrect that is another problem for those who believe there is only one correct belief and reality is subservient to that belief.
