I have a thread on one site that got dozens of views per day. Then it suddenly started dropping off. Each drop it would plateau at a new lower level. So I searched for the thread and its components on google. It kept getting harder and harder to find until it wouldn't come up at all. Google said it returned millions of hits but even when you searched "linear funicular" it didn't appear. I switched to another search engine but it was soon the same thing.
In other words the search engines are censoring what every Siri genius and everyone else can find on the net. Most useful information has been shoved behind paywalls already anyway because everyone wants to be rich yesterday. Wiki is like a kid's understanding of everything and this is the only thing that "exists" now. Yes, wiki is an exceedingly useful tool and was instrumental for me. I did hundreds of thousands of searches and more than a third of them were wiki articles. But not even "science" is the final word in everything. It's not even the final word in anything at all. Reality can only be glimpsed not freeze dried and filed in a cloud.
When opinion supersedes fact and logic there is a severe problem and the fact is we have arrived at this point.
Archaeologists who resort to name calling and screaming have already lost the argument. We need cogent argument and facts but we get hysterics.
