Well yes, winged gods based on winged animals (birds) etc, just as they worshipped other animals without wings (cats etc), or variations thereon.
I'll repeat my earlier point: yes, you do get kites shaped like birds. But that doesn't mean the drawing of a bird represents a kite - agreed? This is simply reverse engineering and flawed logic.
Unlike the kites, the idea doesn't fly (*groan* - forgive the pun).
Now, with respect, think about this seriously. If the AEs had giant controlled kites, large enough to move pyramid stones, surely they would also be used to lift men as lookouts (for military purposes) or send signals over long distances? And if they were that useful, why on earth would they never mention them and indeed abandon the whole concept at some point?
I know this sort of thing sounds "sexy", and perhaps to you - with your theory - would be another pointer to a previous, lost, advanced civilisation, but just read what Archae Solenhofen wrote in one of the above posts about engineering methods. Simply because we don't know how something was done doesn't mean it was done by some fantastical method.
