Perhaps Ishmael would understand the context if we reversed the roles of the US and Pakistan here. Lets say a terrorist group trained and financed in Mexico hit Pakistan with the same devastating effects as were suffered in the US last week. Would American citizens be happy for Pakistani troops to enter the US and start a land war across the Mexican border? Would the Mexican immigrants in Texas and elsewhere sit back and allow that to happen?
Ishmael,
I look forward to your informed thoughts on how you would handle this hypothetical scenario.
