OK. I can understand your point and it could well be dead on.

But, if they can't interfere with Horus or assume devine tasks then that would seem to mean they were lesser Gods than any in the established enneads. As lesser Gods they are also able to pass out of the consciousness of men; they will be forgotten. Trying to remember each individual king who is part of a quite large and nameless group would be hardly an activity one might engage in while building a gigantic tomb to the next member of this group. It just doesn't seem to follow. There had to be some sort of social cohesion to build these pyramids. It must have been based on more than the concept that the king was going to die and then we'll worship him as a god rather than a king.
