You are kidding yourself if you think that the reconstructions done by people thousands of miles and thousands of years away from the actual location and life of the boy king are more accurate than the mask on the boys face done from what he looked like in life by people alive at the time. That is absolute nonsense. If anyone is denying anything it is those who feel that they can do a better job of forming the face of a boy king now than those people who made that face mask according to the actual face of the King right after death.

Thank you for acknowledging the supreme nonsense behind such reconstructions. Reconstructions are flights of fancy and in this case nothing more than artistic fairy tales being used to put indigenous Africans from the Nile Valley closer to Europeans and others outside of Africa than those actually indigenous to the Nile Valley. The absolute absurdity of this can be seen when whites from Europe and elsewhere claim closer relationship to ancient Egypt than blacks in Egypt right now today who look the most like the portrait of the boy king. But of course that fact does not matter. This is nothing more than historical segregation trying to push blacks and other indigenous Nile Valley Africans and primarily of African ancestry to the "back of the bus" so that whites and other foreigners can claim something they had absolutely nothing to do with. Only a nut case would claim that blacks indigenous to the Nile Valley and Sahara are separate and distinct from the populations that populated the Nile and Sahara 5,000 years ago.

The purpose of Hawass making his statement is to allow whites of the diaspora, from Europe, to America, Australia and elsewhere, people with little or no ancestral relationship to ancient Egypt to feel closer to ancient Egyptian culture than the indigenous Africans of the Nile Valley. His statement was clear and direct, that the indigenous Africans of the Nile Valley have no cultural ties and no ancestral relationship to the people of the Nile Valley 5,000 years ago because they are black and black is what indigenous Africans of the Nile Valley look like. Therefore, since they are black there is no other choice but to call ancient Egypt non African so that they can make it non black and non indigenous to the Nile Valley. Therefore, he is claiming that the population of the Nile Valley who inhabited the region and built the civilization of Egypt had no relationship to the indigenous people of the area, who are and were Africans and that the ancient Egyptians were some "other" people who sprang up out of thin air unrelated to any other population nearby as a separate and distinct entity unto themselves. Of course, those in the community of scholars who are part of Egyptology wont come out against such a point of view openly, even if they disagree with Hawass. This can only occur because modern Egyptology, as an institution, is so dominated by those from outside of Africa and with little or no ties to Egypt who feel themselves the caretakers of ancient Egypt. So he had to say this in order for all these people who continue to bring Egypt home to people of primarily European descent worldwide to feel justified in portraying Egypt as some bastion of white civilization surrounded by "true" Africans.
