I stand by my statement however, that the most likely explanation for any alignment of this precision, is human intent. I'd make the same statement regarding demonstrated alignments in New York or Washington.

Why?

Because the statement is not one of fact but of probability. It does not exclude the possibility of chance. The weight of averages simply leans in favour of intentional design.

Out of curiousity, I'd like to see a diagram of the Washington/New York alignment. What buildings did they use? Are these modern structures? Are they all monuments of some kind?

I'm not suggesting conspiracies of the illuminati (LOL!) but it would not surprise me if certain monuments or government buildings (especially from the revolutionary period through to the civil war) were aligned with stars - due to the influence of masonic mysticism upon the early United States.

If the buildings in question are related, the evidence for intentional design mounts. Obviously, it is rather easy (and meaningless) to construct an "alignment" by connecting structures on the basis of whether or not they fit the constelation.

For instance, a line drawn from the world trade center to the home of the current mayor, and then on to the school in which the chief of police attended kindergarten might well resemble Orion - but then a similar "alignment" could be constructed from almost any three buildings selected on the basis of whether or not they "fit."

If, on the other hand, you present me with a case where we have three Catholic cathedrials (for example), constructed from aproximately the same era, over which the belt stars fall almost precicely upon their respective pulpits, you'll have to forgive me for assuming intentional design unless and until proven otherwise. This, is an entirely rational position on the issue.

This is the situation we have at Giza. Three thematically related structures (also the most prominant temples on the plateau) that are arranged in relation to one another in such a way that, when the belt stars are placed over the arrangment, each star falls squarely over the open courtyards within each.

For now, I'm comfortable assuming that the collected works of shakespeare were not taped out by monkies, nor were the Mortuary Temples aligned with the belt stars by happy accident.
