... To show that this was anything other than coincidence, you would, just to begin with, have to demonstrate that the AE had knowledge of the metric system (which didn't emerge until the late 18th cent AD).

But, if they already had knowledge of a system that wasn't to be invented until about 3,300 years later, why would they be using cubits? ...

Hi Hermione I agree that is seems not to make sense. How can they be using all three measuring systems ? Metric, feet and miles, cubits.

I really am not sure how it all fits together. The ratio of the semi major axis of Mercury to that of Mars is 3.937 and sq rt of 3 x 1000 divided by this equals 440 which is the number of cubits of The Great Pyramid. One of the satellite pyramids measures 44 x 36 and 39.37 x 36 and 44 x 39.37 = 1417.32 x 1732.28 which is the size of the rectangle that encloses the pyramids at Giza. There are 2.54 inches in centimeter and 1 divided by 2.54 = 0.393700787

So the only thing that I see is that all three systems are related because for example you could say that the rectangle at Giza is in fact 44 by 36 METERS since 39.37 inches = 1 meter

So if we use a scale at Giza of 1 cubit equaling 1 inch we get 36 meters by 44 meters. But how could they have used this scale if they did not know the "inch" ?

So they are linked but how they might have known this I do not know.
