The amount of wood in the video is absurd --they didn't have strong wood (they had palm trees, which are far more fragile than wood from the forests of France. Wood was precious and generally used for things that only the wealthy had. When a wooden object was broken, it was recarved and reused until it was practically worthless... and then burned. Most of the trees are quite small (see: [
www.ucl.ac.uk])
The video shows the interior made from a lot of regular sized blocks the same size. But this isn't what is inside the pyramid. No two of the blocks appear to be the same size and many of them are small cobbles and rubble type stones. A poured set of blocks would have no need for this and the little stones and filler rocks would have hampered the process and gotten in the way.
Nor are the tops of the blocks all the same height. Nor are they set in there exactly square (with a flat bottom.)
The idea that fabric could hold tons of material is... rather optimistic. I have some lovely high-quality Egyptian cotton dresses (quite sturdy, really) but they'd rip to shreds if I tried to hold a ton of material with them. Same with leather -- the seams would give out promptly.
And really, if they'd had that process they would have used it in other projects... and the Sumerians would probably have stolen the technology and used it as well.
