Nope. Frankly, I don't find the idea very convincing except in the cases of solar temples with definite paths of sunlight or in the case of the temple of Ramesses, where the rising sun illuminates his face on his birthdate. I'm a lot more convinced about alignments with Babylonian temples since they were famed for their astronomy.

Sirius is sometimes depicted as a cow with a star. There's an inscription over the cow's head. It doesn't mention Hathor at all nor does it have Hathor's solar disc.

Because that's how science works. You prove your idea is the better explanation.

You have to prove that secondary connection: Not "multiple layers of understanding." You have to show that for that time and for that symbol that your interpretation is correct, and why that one relatively obscure image in a whole compound full of images and writing is somehow more important than it appears to be.

I don't know how they determined this (but it's something I've read before.) It seems easy enough to align a temple to a river. And rivers, unlike stars and planets, change their orientation over time rather drastically.
