I'm not doubting that the engineers and architects of the GP had precise surveying abilities. And as we found out now by comparing with modern code or norms, their measurement precision was 42% of today (ISO 4463) and their construction tolerance was even exceeding today's standards for 30m long concrete pieces (the German page I found). Between the time of the GP construction and the 20th century all that was lost and never used.

It's not my idea that the construction of the Hathor temple had Sirius in mind, there are many other sources from history about that. But I see that connection as primary correlation.
One older source from history is the Isis temple built directly next to it on the south western wall only a few meters away with the same 18° clockwise rotation from north alignment. The long axis of the Isis temple is pointing directly to the Eastern gate 100m away, where Sirius would rise the first time in the year. Do you agree about the Isis temple alignment? Note, that here the long axis of the much smaller temple was aligned towards Sirius.
