Hi Alex,
I read your explanation and re-read your paper more carefully, and realised that in my clumsy way I was actually saying the same thing. Mea culpa. In your original paper you write - "Since the azimuths of the pyramids of the 4th dynasty (except the pyramid of Djedefre) exhibit a precessional dependence, all these pyramids are clearly oriented to the same star, which means in their case that some event or observation forced at least five generations of kings choose for orientation the same star again and again". Then "Spence was able to find such a pair of stars (Mitsar-Kochab) for which the rate of precessional shift (31'/century) was very close to the rate of change of the azimuths of the 4th dynasty pyramids (in other words, if we draw the change in the azimuth of this star-pair with time on our graph, then the inclination of the resulting line relative to the X-axis will be approximately the same as for the blue approximating line)."
One reason to agree that the simultaneous transit method is unlikely to have been used for pyramid orientation is the observation by Glen Dash that the azimuths of the descending passages of the major pyramids, if I understand him correctly, are better aligned to the pole than pyramid sides, surprisingly Dashur more precisely than Khufu -
('Simultaneous Transit and Pyramid Alignments: Were the Egyptians Errors in Their Stars or in Themselves?' 2015. Figure 4) -

I am amazed that your work has not yet received greater attention - your analysis of star positions and your re-evaluation of carbon dates, both support an older dating. If I have asked too many silly questions it is because of the Khufu shafts and 'evidence' that they point to stars at the time of building. The hope that the shafts link heaven and earth. Something like this -
(Altitudes provided by Chris Tedder)
But if, as you say, they do not (with KC south at 44 degrees) then it seems the starshaft idea must be rejected and the shafts have some other purpose. Yet there remain interesting correspondences with stars (such as your own regarding Djoser's box, or that the rising of Orion on the horizon coincided with Kochab on the meridian) and these need to be explained. Until Gantenbrink is interrogated and Djedi provides solid data, nothing useful can be said.
By the way (naive question) why is Seshat associated with the septenary? Are there any textual or pictorial references to the 'septenary' nature of Seshat? If not her sign is actually eightfold (including the handle) thus representing the cardinal directions.
