On the contrary there is strong evidence, from the orientation of the KC shafts. professor Giulio Magli has pointed out that the final portion (11 metres) of the KCN shaft points to the upper culmination of Thuban around 2550 BCE. Not only this... if we take the slope of KCS as 45 degrees, it too points to the culmination of Al Nilam, the middle star in Orion's belt, in the same year.
I used the coordinates 29.9791495°N; 31.1342005°E for the dead centre of Khufu's pyramid, which I obtained from Google maps (although Glen Dash revised these coordinates very slightly). I also used an elevation for the base platform, at which level I presume the astronomical observations were carried out. Professor Magli suggests using Stellarium for such calculations. Unlike previous astronomical software, Stellarium takes into account the 1 to 2 minutes of arc difference in elevations created by atmospheric refraction. This makes a slight difference in the chronology.

99/70 is the Egyptian value for sqrt 2. It is the precise value for the double remen. It is found by measuring the diagonal of a 10c x 10c (70p x 70p) square as 14c 1p (99p).
This value is implicit in the design of the KCS shaft. In Gantenbrink's model, its rise is 70 cubits, its run is 70 cubits and its sloping length is 99 cubits. The KCS shaft expresses in cubits what the 10c x 10c square expresses in palms.
