I'm not the least bit of a pyramid freak, however when somebody says they weren't tombs because there's no evidence of a pharaoh has been found in them it's all I can do to keep from laughing. If they weren't buried in the pyramids then where were they buried? In some hole in the desert? Why all this ridiculous building of mortuary temples, pyramids, boat pits, emplacing sarcphagus, etc. etc. if the king was going to be buried in some third rate mastaba that we've been unable to find after 5,000 years of searching? Why not apply the same logic to the VOK tombs? How many Pharaohs were found buried in their original tombs? Not many. So using that logic I guess the AE's just loved to dig gigantic holes in the ground fill them up with first rate paintings scatter around a few smashed up statues and leave behind some beautiful but empty sarcophagi and then seal it up for a few thousand years.

We gotta get realistic the corpse was the lightest part of the funerary equipment. From what we can see it was also the most lucrative part since it was loaded from head to toe with gold, jewelry and precious objects. What would you go after a few bows and arrows and canes scattered around Tut's tomb or the jewelry and precious goods? The reason we didn't find any evidence is because the AE's took all of the evidence and sold it millenia ago.
