Nice post and good info. I don't doubt that the early dynastic Egyptians had stellar as well as Solar dieties, what I do doubt is that the PTs remained unchanged over several hundred years before they were written in the Dyn 5 pyramids. It's more likely than not that parts of the PTs are older than Dyn 5 and I am convinced that the Cannibal Hymn contains references to pre-dynastic practices and beliefs. Where the problem lies is in sorting the older from the newer material. For instance, how can we be sure that the reference to sAH in the Cannibal Hymn was not a later addition to an older, already existing text to bring it into line with current beliefs? The bottom line is: we cannot be sure until an older version of that text is discovered that we can compare the PT version to. You can't just take any passage you like from the PTs and extrapolate it back in time just because it supports the OCT, or any other theory.
