> You are playing with the meaning of words.
No I am not! Design is design is design in any and all meanings of it
> The Koreans are not designing anything in the ordinary meaing of the word-- or
> the "intelligent Design" meaning.
Yes they are! Why is it so difficult for you to accept the
truth ?
> What they are doing is making stem cells that are exact matches for the intended
> receiver.
Please do
not try to change the meaning of the word "design"! They are designing those cells with a specific purpose and with some "intelligence" behind it and not just randomly mixing things!!!
> The whole principle of cloning is that the DNA in the nucleus is what controls the end
> product--
Most of us are already fully "aware" that the core "nucleus" is what controls things! The core nuclear forces are always the stronger...
> the rest of the cell is just the machinery to carry out the instructions in the DNA.
Of course. But that still does not the change the
fact that they have re-designed the nucleus of the stem cell to make it "personal"...
> What the Koreans did was to take the DNA from the cells of individual A (who might be
> afflicted with Alsheimer, etc) and replace the nuclear DNA of a fertilized egg of
> individual B with the (A)DNA.
I am fully aware of what they did!
> The egg is then allowed to continue to grow until embryonic stem cells are produced.
..but, they found a process (that is where intelligence comes in!) via a certain combination of chemicals to help the egg grow
after re-designing or re-constructing it!
> Presumably these stem cells have the advantage of 1) if tissue or organs grown from
> them is inplanted in individual A no rejection will take place because it is individual
> A's own tissue and...
I am also fully aware what the potential benefits are! This still does not negate the fact that thosee personal stem cells were designed for a very specific reason/benefit in mind...
> 2) there might be differences in these stems cells from those grown from individuals
> who were healthy and this would open up areas of research into the causes of diseases.
This second benefit is also well understood. Again, I am
not disputing the fact that there are benefits associated with this scientific achievement! What I am arguing here about is that this personal stem cell work shows us further evidence that life can be designed!
In other words, further progress in this space will only continue to add more and more evidence to this fact. This is what straight and forward logic directly suggests...
