I know that this is a waste of time, but, for the sake of the lurkers :-). You are playing with the meaning of words. The Koreans are not
designing anything in the ordinary meaing of the word-- or the "intelligent Design" meaning. What they are doing is making stem cells that are exact matches for the intended receiver. The whole principle of cloning is that the DNA in the nucleus is what controls the end product-- the rest of the cell is just the machinery to carry out the instructions in the DNA. What the Koreans did was to take the DNA from the cells of individual A (who might be afflicted with Alsheimer, etc) and replace the nuclear DNA of a fertilized egg of individual B with the (A)DNA. The egg is then allowed to continue to grow until embryonic stem cells are produced. Presumably these stem cells have the advantage of 1) if tissue or organs grown from them is inplanted in individual A no rejection will take place because it is individual A's own tissue and 2) there might be differences in these stems cells from those grown from individuals who were healthy and this would open up areas of research into the causes of diseases.
