You bring up an important point. Tribal laws are very different on the reservation. There are some federal laws (ie in the case of murder) but overall, the tribes have their own set of laws. Where skinwalkers may breach tribal laws, I am uncertain. It could be considered a wholly religious matter and be untouched. I am not versed well enough in tribal laws to even guess however. Another comment is that nobody really wants to get near a skinwalker. They smell really quite bad, aren't too pretty to look at and are dangerous as well. A Navajo police officer would probably hesitate before pursuing one himself and I wouldn't blame him.

Yes, just because our family has been targetted for generations, it could mean that we could be punished for the acts of some ancestor or it could be completely seperate issues with us.

Before I even saw the skinwalker, I had been hearing things outside at night for a couple weeks before then. The first was hearing flute music, which I mistakenly assumed was some child tormenting their poor parents while practicing their recorder. LOL (true). I heard it a few times. After that, there was something outside one evening that was making whooping sounds at me. Needless to say, I got inside fairly quick. So, it wasn't the first event. It was when she decided to show herself. Calling out to what was a profoundly bad thing. You're not supposed to do that. By calling out to her, I was saying "I see you" and forcing her to acknowledge me. Either it was presenting herself to me or I happened to catch sight of her on her journey is unknown. However, considering the way the street and surrounding area is laid out, I would hazard to say that it was the former. If she was heading towards a house at the top of the street (where she parked herself under the streetlight), then she would've had an infinitely more safe non-street route as there is a nature preserve flanking that property. She was out in the open and knew she was safe enough from me to remain so.

Yes, the same is true with the Navajo (and yes, I get the joke
)Navajo women, especially, are known for pointing with their lips and not their fingers. Even caucasians that have grown up on the reservation point in that manner to give an idea as to how diffuse it is. My husband says that he'll dispose of me if I start doing it too. hee hee In short, you don't call out or point at someone--especially not a skinwalker.

Well, my husband relocated to the reservation in order to help his tribe with technology improvements but considering that others that were affiliated with the project never reported any problems, that probably wasn't it. A few of my inlaws thought that it had something to do with me, like the skinwalker was attracted to or covetted something about me. The medicine man said that a woman's jealousy was the problem. My husband and I are rather quiet people, preferring to hang out at our home with our kids more than anything else nor are we ostentatious by any stretch. It's really hard to figure out a reason why we would've been targetted as a result. I would hazard to say that we were definitely the source of the last couple rounds. Although aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents were present, the medicine man kept describing our smaller family unit in his crystal gazing. We stayed for a short period with my inlaws and the visitations started up there as well. Kind of funny but during the blessing way, we were told to sit at a spot closest to the medicine man, received the heaviest amount of attention (I had alot of water and other things flung on me) as well as the door to our room being blessed the most. How he knew which room was ours is beyond me as all the doors were shut, lol. If the medicine man would've had some advice for us to prevent further visits (especially considering that my husband was his stepson's nephew), he would've told us but he didn't.
