After having very little discussion on actual skinwalkers and more discussion on my personal perception of what is supernatural, I fail to see that there has been any "progress" whatsoever. The topic is not being discussed. My own person is. If you all prefer the bulk of rubbish that is on the internet instead of an actualy firsthand accounting from a member of the tribe as well as his wife, then so be it. I will point out something for you to ponder. Vigilantism is generally how skinwalker problems are resolved. Blessing ways are for after. If Navajo thought that skinwalkers were supernatural and not human, why would they grab the guns when one comes around?

Because they are things that people would normally assume to be esp--which is generally confined to the supernatural/paranormal science. I, personally, disagree with this assumption. Look at a medicine man--our crystal gazer, for instance. He's not part of any sort of "psychic network". He is part of the culture and although rare, he is not a supernatural being. To a Navajo (and this is where I agree directly), he has a natural gift of a heightened awareness. He is very natural just as one who can run faster than others. "Psychic" ability is more of a caucasian construct.

My husband is an excellent man. As I have stated before, I am not posting on this topic alone. I am the one doing the typing but the ideas and information that are being placed on this thread are both my husband's and mine--which I have also said repeatedly. These are things that we share. However, just because I "brought him up" does not mean that our relationship is up to discussion on this board or that imprudent assumptions can be made. Both he and I are both rather offended at your remark. Considering that we are breaking a strict cultural taboo in order to share this information, this kind of personal commentary makes it so that we both simply will discontinue discussing it. Without having my husband involved in this, this thread would suffer for it. You brought up my delayed response as another assumption in regards to me and I corrected you by stating my situation as well as mentioning that I am working with my husband on the replies. That does not mean that personal commentary on our relationship is appropriate. It's rude. Period.
