<HTML>Like the rest of the world, I was never out of earshot of a radio and spent much time gaping at the television set yesterday.
I have sent e-mail to dear friends in Manhattan, because phone lines are, obviously, jammed. I am hopeful that they are fine, and I await their responses patiently.
I have spent much time in prayer and reflection. I have read your posts and been deeply moved by them. I am keeping candles lit... not for those who have died, for they are in the hands of Spirit now, but for those who have been left behind and the heroes who now navigate the hellish rubble seeking possible survivors.
Americans have always risen to such occasions with fortitude and courage. Like a sword blade in the forge, we are honed and strengthened by adversity. Like others, I hope that we can hold the sword of justice high and wield it accurately, rather than letting it fly wildly about. I believe this will be the case.
Like others on this board, I hope that this will result in a worldwide intolerance of terrorism in any form.
Godspeed to the rescue crews. May those who have suffered such grievous losses find solace in the outpouring of nationwide love and concern, and in the love of Spirit. May justice be served. And may we all open our eyes and serve witness to this tragedy and apply the lessons to our own lives, and collectively, as humankind.
"Man's inhumanity to man" is unacceptable at any level.
Hope!
