<HTML>Hello all -

We have had many discussions on this board and elsewhere, sometimes heated, over various matters of intellectual interest. We have disagreed with each other, and debated each other. But sometimes the real world just comes crashing in.

The events today in NYC and Washington are staggering. The reaction of the members of this board, both regulars and some-time visitors (in the thread below "What's Going On?") is heartening and restorative of one's trust in human nature in the face of such diabolical contempt for human life.

Let me add my small voice to the chorus of well wishes to anyone from our community here directly or indirectly affected by these crimes.

Personally, what I fear for is the future. What destination does this path lead to?
