This has been a tremendous 24 hour period here in America. We have seen our way of life attacked. Our identity has been attacked. That which has made us great and strong has been struck a stinging blow.
In light of this pain, I would like to pray to God, in Jesus' name...
Dear lord, please grant us the patience to be prudent. Please help us to hold anger and vengeance at bay. I pray for the clear thinking and understanding that will help us to know precisely what happened. And once we have this information, please give us the strength to do the right thing with this knowledge, and let our response be the response that sends a message...clear and resounding... to those who would cause this kind of cowardly, vicious destruction, and to the nations that would give these dispicable creatures safe harbour.
After yesterday, may the world be a safer place. The terrorism has hit home. The sleeping giant has been awakened. Give us the guidance and strength to do what must be done.
And most importantly, please help the suffering people around the world who are feeling the pain of loss... the pain of suffering -- all of them, no matter what nationality, who have experienced this pain as a result of any terrorism. Please, Lord, let their pain me minimal, and their suffering be brief.
