<HTML>I think I see what you're getting at. My point is that I think the notion of how one packages material MUST be universally understood by all seasoned professional journalists.
Ironically, in some respects you could say that the tabloid journalists are perhaps the most astute members of their clan, for they strictly abide by the understanding that they are NOT in the information business, but in the entertainment biz. Just about everybody else in journalism, from the BBC on down is playing the same game, despite all rhetoric and posturing to the contrary. Humourously, the higher up one goes the more reluctant they are to admit this - preferring as they would like to think that they are 'above' such base tendencies, or completely removed from them.
Yes, tabloids and the BBC are not the same, but at a minimum their awareness of these 'tricks of the trade' are basically the same. More on this later.</HTML>
