All the more reason to have gone to greater lengths in drawing the readers' attention to the new position on Vyse, Graham. Undoubtedly the man's descendents would feel the same way.
Doing so would have been easy, and again, given your lengthy experience as a 'journo', especially one dealing with academics (who would therefore be cogniant of their standards). Considering that this ommission on your part was in all probability quite conscious, the criticisms on this Vyse thing really do seem like fair comment.
