We try to relate it to inches but that is part of our reality.
The cubit, since it was their invention, could equal any number of inches. It does not have to equal an even number of inches. So therefore it could equal 20.Phi or 20.6145235489 or 20.6185692315 or any number of inches between 20.61 inches and 20.64 inches.
But I repeat it does not have to equal 20.61 or 20.62 or 20.63 or even 20.615 or 20.625 or 20.635 It can very easily equal a number of inches which does not divide evenly. Once we agree on this then 20.Phi becomes just one of several possibilities that mathematically seems to fit the data as we can measure it. It could also be simply 20.618181818....
