But... they are aligned with the "center of the galaxy". In fact, all the planets are. The planets orbit in an solar ecliptic plane and that's always angled at a 60 degree alignment with the galactic plane. [

Yes... and no. The "galactic plane" is indeed the dark patch between the two bands of stars, but the reason that it "wobbles" and planets seem to cross it is that our Earth actually wobbles some 23 degrees on its axis. Starry night is set for earth-centered viewing only and doesn't actually reflect what's going on in the solar system.
Meanwhile, the orbital plane of the planets and Earth is about 60 degrees off the galactic plane. Earth has a 23+ degree wobble on top of that:
