Hermione: How would you know that there is?

SC: Let me remind you, Hermione, that it is you – not I – who seems to have a problem with so-called ‘spiro-spaghetti’. I consider such analysis as having merit for the possibilities it can offer, the discoveries that it can potentially uncover. You are the one here who regards such investigations with a certain disdain, inferring that such investigation is somehow unworthy of serious consideration. I happen to disagree with your point of view because I do not accept that such ancient monuments could not have had some underlying design imperative that an in-depth geometrical analysis might uncover.

Hermione: Human instinct? You mean intuition? But surely geometric constructions depend ultimately on mathematical logic, not intuition ...

SC: You’re blurring the lines here, Hermione. Of course the math is not dependent on intuition. Are you saying that you do not believe the ancients would have had any rational whatsoever for the arrangement of their monuments? This is a quite separate issue from the math of the monuments – as I am sure you well know.

Hermione: Excellent!

So where's the evidence, then?

Hermione: Setting aside the contentious question of trans-generational funerary projects, and the equally contentious question - if the Nile is to represent the Milky Way - of reversed directions,

SC: Sorry – you have lost me here. What’s the ‘Milky Way’ or its reversed direction got to do with the price of bread?

Quote

Hermione: why would the AE engage in such an exercise?

SC: Why should they not? They were following their own cultural/religious ideas.

Quote

Hermione: In the event that your theory was correct, what benefit would the Pharaoh derive from siting his pyramid in such a way that it (allegedly) formed an image of one of the three Belt stars?

SC: To be honest, I have no idea if the Pharaohs were aware or not of the Orion concordance of the design bequeathed to them from antiquity. (That is all I will say about this – I know you do not wish the thread to go too far off topic). The Pharaoh would have wished to safeguard the journey of his soul into the Afterlife. The pyramid was an essential component in this. That’s most likely the reason why the Pharaoh’s built their pyramids – as I have always said; in accordance with their own religious/cultural ideas.

Quote

Hermione: Not, anyway, that anyone on the ground would particularly get the point until the third pyramid was in place ... Would the constructors of the first two pyramids have been content to take such a long view?

SC: They would have seen such from the bequeathed plan. Furthermore, from the design method I propose, Menkaure would have been designed first – then the other two pyramids. This is not to say, however, that the Gizamids were built in the order they were conceived.

Hermione: And I continue to say that I don't find the evidence that you present to be at all persuasive.

SC: I have to disagree.
