Hi Scott forgive me here but in your flash animation we get the diagonal of G3 as the square root of 201.5 x 201.5 x 2 = 284.96403281817865233354027792825

If we draw a parallel line to the P1 to P2 apex extended line we would get half the diagonals of P1 and P2 as being equal to this 284.964. This we know is incorrect so you have to incorporate Wayne's 1/4 base solution in this.

The two lines ARE NOT parallel.
