The issue with this name though is that it is never in a cartouche and never appears with the rest of his titularly. Then, after having looked at the lengths of all the lunar items which still have a strap, and comparing them to non lunar items, I found that the straps of all the lunar items were much shorter than all the other items. This means that they were made for him at an early age. As a comparison, the necklace of the Sun rising on the Horizon, which has a much longer strap than any of the lunar itmes, was photographed around the neck of the 12 year old Hussein Abdel Rasoul, the water carrier from the infamous tomb robbing Rasoul family, who was the real finder of KV62. The necklace fits him perfectly. As the straps of the lunar items are so much shorter, they must be for Tutankhamun when he was several years younger, and he was average height for a modern Egyptian so it's valid to use Hussein as a benchmark. In my opinion these lunar items are from the start of his reign when he was still Tutankhaten, and, as these lunar items were not fitted with longer straps as he grew taller, were kept, but no longer worn, possibly from around the time he changed his name.

The question is as the Moon did not seem to figure at all in "Atenism", why did Tutankhaten have lunar items at the start of his reign, if not earlier, and why were they seemingly mothballed by the time of the final ditching of the Aten. Given that he was portrayed as Khonsu, and the features of that statue show him more in the age range of Hussein, or a bit older, not younger I think, just what was going on. Associating himself with Khonsu binds him into the Theban triad, and ties him to Amunhotep III who portrayed himself as Khonsu at the Soleb temple, so why seemingly stop using a lunar name, and was it normal practise for a king to have a secondary throne name, and he was still officially Nebkheperure from the start of his reign, but that it was never in a cartouche, or is this yet another Amarna mystery applicable only to Tutankhamun.
