the following is a responce to a ma'at mail on the same topic ( i went there before I came to the forum today. I think it fits right in here...

by John A Wilson ??
Probably the BEST attempt to date to paint a reseasonable picture of the AE world view..even tho the work behind it actually dates from the late 1940's.
ironically enough...speaking of methodology....Very early on the author goes out of his way to admit that much of what comprises the big picture re their beliefs and social structure and infrastructure , and the mechanism by which the King maintained his power ...IS speculative.
What makes it mainstream...is the very weight of the circumstantial evidence...Heaped over 3000 years.
Back to the immediate topic
when we ask the alternate theorist(pyramidiologist/Pyramidiot) for cultural collaboration... we are only asking that they make the same allowances that Wilson does in his book.
they ask us where is Khufu's body.
we say 3000 years of circumstance say it WAS there
and 3000 years of Pre-dynastic pot shards and midden piles tell us who Khufu descended from.
and 12,000 years ago Giza would have been the last place in the world that any group of people would want to habitate.
any substantial settlements would have been to the North and the West...away from what would have been a stifling "Swampy Jungle".
they HAVE to provide more than their "Irrefutable" Observations and the "B"rilliant "S"pecualtions they generate.
they must paint the same kind of picture, that we do, as a backdrop to their ideas. ""
