At the risk of making you regret helping me I'll explain
why I feel this translation is so important; It (and utt 33)
may be key to convincing more people to look into the pos-
sibilty of the existence of cold water geysers.

utterance 423: (http://www.wyldwytch.com/weavings/reading_room/books/egypt/pyramid.htm)

765a. To say: O Osiris N., take to thyself this thy libation, which is offered to thee by Horus,

Osiris was the actual name of the geyser. "N" is a sort of
place holder for the name of the deceased king. In life the
king was responsible for the stabilty, operation and usage
of the geyser. Now that he's dead he is still closely asso-
ciated with the geyser and the God which it is. It is probably
a priest or the new king leading this ceremony.

Osiris is being exhorted here to "take to himself", "to absorb"
the (probably dissolved natron in water) the libation. It is
being offered by his son Horus who was appointed to rule in the
house of his father Osiris. It is horus' eye from which Osiris
arises. "...offered to thee by Horus" may well be a sort of pun
as well since certainly the ceremony is taking place "by" Horus.

In colloquial (American) English this line might read:

>765aAE Say out loud, Hey Osiris, and dearly departed friend, dissolve this offering >within yourself. It is given to you at this site by your deified son Horus.

765b. in thy name of "He who is come from the cataract"; take to thyself thy natron that thou mayest be divine.

This line would seem to strongly suggest that the "libation"(off-
ering) is in essence, natron. Natron would cause CO2 to be sudden-
ly released from water. In English:

>765bAE (take it) In your name of "The Dude fronm the Cool Watery Region"; absorb (these salts) so you may be god-like.

765c. Thy mother Nut has made thee to be as a god to thine enemy (or, in spite of thee), in thy name of "God."

With the addition of the salts, the geyser erupts.

>765cAE Your mother, the sky, has made you to be like a god in spite of yourself. You are as a God with the name God.

766a. Take to thyself the efflux which goes forth from thee.

Efflux is often spoken of with a pleasant or foul odor. It ap-
pears in a few places with a word that seems to mean Carbon Dio-
xide. This word is likely "yeast gas" or in standard form "gas
(of) yeast". This "efflux" can prove deadly under some conditions.
They would normally prefer that Osiris keeps it to himself to what-
ever degree is possible.

>766aAE Keep that funk to yourself dude.

766b. Horus has made me assemble for thee the gods from every place to which thou hast gone.

The gods assemble for the ceremony. This is primarily in reference
to the dead king probably. "Me" is probably the speaker who is likely
the king since it is he who put the whole ceremony together.

>766bAE The God Horus has gotten all your pals here to help you live even after we plant you in the ground (pyramid, mastaba, whatever).

766c. Take to thyself the efflux which goes forth from thee.

ditto.

766d. Horus has made me count for thee his children even to the place where thou wast drowned.

It was Osiris drowned. There were numerous geysers and some
of these were so small as to be mostly inconsequential (children).
By the time they were adding natron to make these erupt they
were becoming dramatically weakened by lowered CO2 content.

>766dAE The God Horus has us taking stock of all those places where water comes out of the ground.

767a. Ḥr-rnp.wi recognizes thee, for thou art made young again, ill this thy name of "Fresh water."

Osiris is recognizable as a geyser after adding the natron. No
doubt "ill" is a typo and should be "in".

>767aAE (Some god) recognizes you as yourself since you appear young again. You look like yourself in your aspect as (of) "fresh water".

767b. Horus is indeed a soul, for he recognizes his father in thee, in his name of "Ḥr-bȝ-’iti-rp.t."

This one is a little less clear (I guess you had to be there), but
Horus, too, recognizes his father.

>767bAE Horus lives since he can see his father (as a geyser) once
again.

Try reading it through in English and see if it's in the least believable.

Most will have to suspend disbelief at least momentarily.
