Actually, we can be fairly certain that one of the four shafts was oriented toward the beltstars of Orion. Whether this was their intent, however, is what is completely lacking in evidence.

And for good reason, since they could align the pyramid so meticulously to the cardinal points. Creating a shaft, however, that targets a specific area of the sky would seem to be reasonably easy for such people. Why, then, the shafts bob and weave so much is what should really be at question. The wavering of the shaft alignments, in fact, should be indicative of the probability that they were not intended to "target" any specific object in the sky.

You are unequivocally correct. In fact, the reason there is no such evidence is (get ready for it!) because targeting the beltstars was not their purpose.

No need for that. The soul was known to be able to travel effortlessly through stone. It didn't require emergency exits.
