AS: "In the eyes of an Old Kingdom Egyptian, it only crossed the sky at night"
You know this absolutely for sure? your evidence is.........???? What happened to all the stars filling the sky when the Sun rose?
Imagine an OK AE standing on the Giza plateau looking southeast at night watching the large distinctive constellation of Orion rising up from on its side on the eastern horizon. As it slowly rises in the south eastern sky the sky gradually lightens as the brightest star in their sky approaches the eastern horizon. The stars of Orion slowly fade from view as the glare of the brightest light in their sky fills the sky, overwhelming all the other lesser lights shining from the hundreds of other stars filling the sky. The Sun rises up across the southeastern sky seemingly alone as all other lights have been overwhelmed by the brightness of its light - but is it alone - what happened to all the other stars that were clearly moving across the sky from east to west just a short while ago - did they stop moving, die or did they just disappear into nothingness, or did the AE imagine that the stars in the sky preceding the Sun's rise were still in the sky moving from east to west, but in the daytime accompanying the Sun.
In the PTs, the king was given birth by Nut, just like Sah (sAH, 'Orion') - the king "Pepi Neferkare will descend into a boat like the Sun on the shores of the Winding Canal, so that Pepi Neferkare may be rowed by the unwearying ones / stars" N 564
Be clean; occupy your seat in the Sun's boat, row over the sky and mount up to the distant ones; row with the Imperishable Stars, sail with the unwearying ones / stars........ P 453
How was the king in the Sun's boat rowed by the unwearying ones / stars?
