I'm not going to get into a huge debate on this as we've already been having this argument in the UK for the last few years - and I do not tend to argue in a particularly civil manner when it comes to this. The MMR vaccine/autism link has NOT been upheld despite numerous studies - the most recent one in Japan (I'll get you references offline if you want them - I have files and files on this).
What we have had is a result, in this country, of tabloid scare stories, is a massive increase in mumps and measle outbreaks as, in some areas, the vaccination level has dipped below the numbers needed to maintain herd immunity. Having family experience of the damage these diseases can cause (and experience with autism) I will always go for MMR every time.
