I lived on the Navajo reservation for twenty five years. The Navajo skinwalkers are real people. They put a coyote skin head all over their head. Their legs are uncovered except where the skin hangs down in back. I have never personally seen a skinwalker but the stories I have heard. I have seen one of their homes. One story -- My neighbor an anglo, working for the Peabody company on the rez married a Navajo girl and they had a year old child. He decited to quit working on the rez and take his wife and child off the rez. Her parents said,"No". They packed up to leave and as they drove down the highway out of town a skin walker started running along beside them. They went faster sixty to seventy miles an hour. The skinwalker still ran along beside them for about a hundred miles. The young neighbor and his wife came back. However, he left and never came back to the rez. I have seen many people who had a professional curse put on them. Usually what ever curse that was put on them happened also on things like vehicles. A curse was put on the heavy machinery at the Peaboy mine. Within a week seven pieces of equiptment worth in the hundreds of thousands of dollars were driven off into the huge mine hole which killed some of the people.I have personally known several medicine men, some boys. Most all of them
are good people. One of the medicine men answered when I asked him how he know what to tell people what they asked him a question he said," I tell them the first thing that comes into my mine". He felt that was the voice of god telling him that. What they say works about ninety five percent of the time. They are usuallu very intelligent people.
