To me, archaelogy and "The Mysteries" are not mutually exclusive but shed light on each other.

I responded to your post, Mr. Schiller, because it left "space" for my understanding of Atlantis. I would change my words "the war or wars are not dependent on a masculine culture", to it was a war of "power consciousness" or "pride" of those opposing the father of the gods Zeus, or cosmic law, in that sense masculine.

The other correction is to my post to Pacal, in which I agreed that Plato created and sank the story of Atlantis. This pertains to Plato only, because the story is recorded the world over under "different names," so to say. Plato, also writing for his teacher Socrates, wrote to "instruct" and political morality tale(s)" according to Mr. Weller, but Atlantis is not one of them. It partly incorporates and devulges the history of our solar system, and ages of human physical and psychological development on multiple planes. In fact, every time you read the account, and much between the lines, a few more light bulbs go on, lighting an ever expanding perimeter, that is, if you are connected to the main currency. The greatest question of history is: where do we come from?

Critias

"The progress of the history will unfold the various nations of barbarians and families of Hellenes which then existed, as they successively appear on the scene; but I must first of all describe the Athenians of that day, and the enemies who fought with them, and then the respective powers and government ofthe two kingdoms. Let us give precedence to Athens."

The various "nations" or races, families of Hellenes which "then" existed, and Athenians of "that" day, are long before the Hellens as we think of them.

One of the Egyptian priest "of very great age", told Solon that the Greeks "in mind you are all young; there is no old opinion handed down among you by ancient tradition, nor any science which is hoary with age. And I will tell you why.

Hoary with age, "when Hephaestus and Athena, who were brother and sister, and sprang from the same father, having a common nature, and being united also in love of philosophy and art,had a common portion of the land, which was naturally adapted for wisdom and virtue; and there they implanted brave children of the soil, and put into their minds the order of government; their names are preserved, but their actions have disappeared by reason of the destruction of those who received the tradition, and the laps os ages."

Much has disappeared with the laps of the ages, but much is preserved because we can talk about it.

The planetary catastrophe

Timeaus

"There have been, and will be again, many destructions of mankind arising from many causes; the greates have been brought about by the agencies of fire and water, and other lesser ones by innumerable causes. There is a story, which even you have preserved, that once upon a time Paethon, the son of Helios, having yoked the steeds in his father's chariot, because he was unable to drive them in the path of his father, burnt up all that was on earth, and was himself destroyed by a thunderbolt. Now this has the form of a myth, but really signifies a declanation of the bodies moving in the heavens around the earth, and a great conflagration of things on earth, which recurs after long intervals; at such time those who live on mountains and in dry and lofty places are more liable to destruction than those who dwell by rivers or on the seashore. And from this calamity the Nile, who is our never-failing savior, delivers and preserves us."

This destruction on a cosmic scale is told by the Hopi thus:

"Sotuknang -the first power and instrument as a person - the infinite conceived the finite, destroyed Tokpela the "First World", which was "endless space", or live in it "because the Fire Clan had been its leaders. He rained fire upon it. He opened up the volcanoes. Fire came from above and below and all around the earth, the waters, the air, all was one element, fire, and there was nothing left except the people safe inside the womb of the earth."

This was our very beginning when the only element was fire, the earth a fiery ball in space in endless space, metrix of all births, which the Germans call loosely "Brennsuppe", a burning soup, from which they not only swam in yesterday but a long time ago.

The fire clan can compared with Hephaestus or Vulcan and his helpers the Cyclopses and Cedalion, who forged all sorts of things, including Athena's helmet which makes her invisible, so there went the "first" wisdom, as he also created Pandora which opened the box to "laggerd humanity."

So this was long before the Athens of 10,000 BCE, and before the second destruction by the "flood", because the Egyptian priest of great age told Solon that Neith/Athena "founded your city a thousand years before ours, receiving from the Earth and Heaphestus the seed of your race, and afterwards she founded ours, of which the constitution is recorded in our sacred registers to be eight thousand years old."

This Athens was founded before Sais, Neith/Athena/Isis,the feminine "weaver of the world", the "shuttle" of imagination passing between her arrows or neithdles. In short, our physical "seed" was fire and earth, not to forget psychic or soul fire. That's one for you Roxana.

The second destruction by a deluge, also known as "Noah's Flood", when the whole human race was reduced again to 8 seeds, eight went in the ark and 9 came out. Noah being an age and the ark our earth.

Timaeus

"In the first place you remember a singl deluge, but there were many previous ones; in the next place, you do not know that there formerly dwelt in your land the fairest and noblest of man which ever lived, and that you and your whole city are descended from a small seed or remnant of them which survived. And this was unknown to you, because, for many generation, the survivers of that destruction died, leaving no written word. For there was a time, Solon, before the great deluge of all, when the city which now is Athens was first in war and in every way the best governed of all cities, is said to have performed the noblest deeds and to have had the fairest of constitution of any of which tradition tells, under the face of heaven."

Plato reiterates the city which "now" is Athens, and the fair and noble first race, corresponds to the "First People" of the Hopi, who "at the dawn of creation - had still a dampness on their foreheads and a soft spot on top of their heads", and in the interim to "being fully firmed and formed", "were poor and happy", "knew no sickness - understood the mystery of their parenthood, and "in their pristine wisdom they also understood their own structure and functions-the nature of man himself."

But then came "the talker - a bird like a mocking bird, and a handsome one, Kato'ya, in the form of a snake with a big head", and everything went down hill. This is where the second creation in Genesis begins, all Plato, the Hopi, and other traditions of the same lore tell, was all pre-human, as it is called, which is "recorded" in the 9 month development of the embryo floating in a dreamstate in the waters of the womb.

This account of Plato is not a political morality tale, but a minute rendering of our mysterious origin and history.
