If a comet actually hit some part of the Antarctic at the date specified by Hancock, I would expect that analysis of ice core samples would show evidence of such an event. Is this the geophysical evidence that he's talking about? A perusal of geological journals should provide relevant information.

You might try Proview from Coherent Graphics. It can perform many types of manipulations on pdfs that are not available with Acrobat Professional. Proview can reduce/enlarge pdfs generated from InDesign with embedded tiffs/ai/photoshop images, or reduce/enlarge the size of downloaded pdfs.
As far as working with tiffs is concerned, Photoshop CC has a batch process function that allows you to c

This entire "exhibition" reminded me of film director Russ Meyer who produced a number of weird humour, campy horror movies, etc., during the 1960s. He had a bevy of large-breasted actresses who starred in these cinematographic marvels. I don't know if the women in these videos actually believe what they're saying, but the whole scenario is very bizarre. Given a choice, I woul

I was hoping that Cladking would have presented, at some point, at least a simple schematic of his counterweight-stone-hauling idea. But, unfortunately, nary a one has appeared…
I never quite understood his descriptions of how counterweights were supposed to work in the construction of the GP. The logistics of using a counterweight system to haul multi-ton stones for the construction of a pyr

What I miss watching in particular are documentaries. I remember back in the 70s and 80s, when PBS had proper funding. I could watch excellent, thought-provoking presentations on topics in the sciences, archaeology, current events and the arts, with no multiple repeats of cute CGI sequences which added little to the message or content. That has all disappeared.
I'm sticking mostly to the

Well, there is one way around this ridiculous system: download programs on the internet. I've picked up quite a few good British series this way, programs which are not available where I am. For example, I downloaded the Time Team series, and a number of murder mysteries (Midsummer Murders, Inspector Lewis) among others. I find that the production of other British programs, such as "Who

I agree that programming on the History channel has definitely dumbed down in recent years, and it may have a lot to do with program costs. It's probably cheaper to buy series that have so-called "popular appeal", which tend to garner advertising dollars, but it makes me wonder what type of audience they are aiming these shows at. Young boys, or maybe people who are addicted to oth

While perusing the very entertaining Azores threads at GHMB, it amazed me how much extrapolation was performed from a very basic bathymetric digital image. Full information about this underwater feature has not become available to date, and yet we see the usual leaping-to-conclusions that is endemic on that board. I guess we see what we want to see, whether it makes any sense or not.

There is a similar phrase in the Bible, that there is no reckoning of time for the Christian god: "a day is like a thousand years, a thousand years is like a day", inferring that the perception of the passage of time is purely a human construct. This might partially explain the notion that humans lived alongside dinosaurs.
If one furtively goes down the road to fantasy-land, the que

Am I right in assuming that creationism is being advanced solely in the United States? If so, then this speaks volumes about the mentality and beliefs of a good number of senators and house representatives who influence government policies. This "theory", accepted as truth by Christian fundamentalists, would see the light of day only if it had the support of like-minded government offic

I read somewhere that the correct date of this "apocalypse" is actually December 23. How would this jibe with all the panic about hidden meanings associated with the "end time" occurring on the day of the winter solstice?

I'm afraid that I wasn't very clear about greed. I'm talking about greed taken to the extreme, when it literally takes over every decision that an individual makes. This indicates to me that the individual in question has not progressed at all, allowing greed to be the be-all and end-all of his existence. You don't have to look very far to see examples of this type of behaviou

While I agree with you to a large degree that money alone won't solve these problems, neither will social programs. The biggest problem we have to contend with in this world is the greed factor: greed for more power and more money. We will be hampered in our efforts to eliminate hunger and poverty until such time when mankind has evolved further. Not to say we shouldn't make efforts now

The only viable means of rocket propulsion we have now is chemical, as you say, which is not very efficient to say the least. These rockets are enormous “flying bombs”. I was thinking more along the lines of a nuclear fusion system that does not require elaborate calculations to establish exactly, plus a few extra percent for eventualities, how much fuel is required for a round trip. If space res

As far as costs are concerned, I think that it's a matter of priorities. Eliminating hunger and poverty would require only a fraction of what is spent on military expenditures on this planet in one year. If we took just half of the military budget of the United States alone and applied it to space research, I'm sure that a viable rocket propulsion system could be developed within our li

Cladking,
I've been following your "debunk the ramps" postings on this site and on the GHMB for some time now, and I still can't figure out how your proposed counterweight system would work. Lately, you attempt to tie in vertical lines apparent on G1 with your counterweight theory (I'm assuming that this is your intention). Your explanations are unclear, and from the r

Cladking, it is entirely possible that slightly different meanings could be ascribed to certain words in the PTs, and thus produce texts that provide a clearer insight into the original intent of the ancient authors. I think that if you want to provide your own re-interpretation of the pyramid texts, and present arguments as to what you think they mean, you will have to spend some time in learnin

I agree with you. I've been trying to follow cladking's convoluted explanations of his counterweight and geyser mechanisms on various boards with little success. Surely it's not that difficult to illustrate the concept in a series of step-by-step schematics. They don't have to be engineering-level CAD drawings, just something simple that would demonstrate the idea. The phrase
