One can see the blocks get progressively smaller as the tower gets taller. The basic tower is barely 16 feet tall, yet by the top course the blocks are noticeably smaller than the bottom course.

I remember the blocks only being about 18-20 inches thick at the top. The corner blocks you see there in that picture are deceptive. They are not solid; they are carved into "L" shapes to lock the corners in place more solidly. Good work on Ed's part, but it makes them look much thicker from the outside.

So, since the window shown in that pic is about 3 feet tall, that makes the top row of blocks about 3' x 4 1/2' by 20 inches thick. That makes for block weighing approximately 2,800 pounds. 1.4 tons.

Not 18 tons. Not 30 tons.

1.4 tons.

Now, if Ed had a mystical magical magnetic ley-line machine, then why are all of his biggest blocks still stuck to the ground, and the tallest structures home to the tiniest blocks in the compound? Kind of counter-intuitive to the whole anti-gravity thing, isn't it?
