The Queens’ Pyramids at Giza
The two sets of three queens’ pyramids are unique at Giza.
The layout is also significant. One set of three at 90 deg to the horizontal, east of G1, and the other set of three parallel to the horizon, south of G3. With no queens’ pyramids for G2. (See bottom diagram).
Clearly this was very symbolic.
My best guess it that they demonstrate that the orientation of G1- G3 (52.25 deg to east-west) was made up from the orientations of two three star asterisms, KTM vertical at 90 deg in the north, and Orion’s Belt almost horizontal in the south (14.5 deg).
A guaranteed place in the stars
In Part 6 a counterpart of G1, G2, G3 in their ‘averaged‘ orientation was presented for the northern sky around the celestial pole :
Note that Khafre’s pyramid corresponded with Thuban which was on the east-west line through the pole.
Note also that, as a result of the rotation of the stars to this orientation, the whole necropolis was now in the square, including three queen’s pyramids of G3, the two cemeteries close to G1, and Khentkawes tomb.
It appears that the
whole Giza necropolis had this counterpart location among the imperishable stars !
If so, does this mean that all those buried in the Giza necropolis had a guaranteed place in the stars just like the King ? If true, it must have more than they could have wished for !
One more thing to note. We find at Giza 3 sets of 3 pyramids making 9, like the 9 gods of the Great Ennead ? It may be a symbolism of the 9 gods of the Great Ennead that were located around the celestial pole. More specifically, on the Kocab-Mizar line in the sky.
About the Lesser Ennead of 11 gods. There were 2 more little satellite pyramids, one by G1 and one by G2. They do not seem to serve a Heb Sed purpose as they were built outside the enclosures. These two extra ones turn the 9 into an 11 pyramids at Giza, thus representing the 11 gods of the Little Ennead !
