Hi Graham,
Thanks for sharing your fascinating ideas on the Heb Sed sky connection. I would like to have shared some thoughts on your ideas but I’m down with covid and my brain is just about ticking over making it difficult to concentrate - (covid is spreading like wildfire here in Finland at the moment)
Graham: “Chris Tedder, posting earlier this year, pointed out that the line from Djedefre’s pyramid west edge at 52.25 degrees to west-east passed through the west edge of G3 (which was not yet built) down to Djoser’s Step Pyramid complex at Saqqara. I checked this and it is exact. Let’s not dismiss this as co-incidence !”
I’ve posted on the Djedefre/Khufu/rising of Alfa Centauri and the Iunu/Khufu/Menkaure/setting of Alpha Centauri 45 deg alignments over the years on the HoM, but my interest in the positional relationship between these sacred sites and the sky began back in the 1990’s with the 52.2 deg Djedefre/Menkaure/Netjerikhet/Orion alignment. This was published at Robert Bauval’s request, in his 2006 book ‘The Egypt Code’ as appendix 3.
Linear alignments between Iunu and royal funerary complexes, may have something in common with a Pyramid Text that mentions Akhs and gods crossing over for their meals each morning and evening to Iunu:
"Any Akh or any god who will cross his arm against Pepi Neferkare when he goes up to the sky on the god’s ladder, the earth will not be hacked up for him, a deposited offering will not be laid down for him, he will not cross to the evening meal in Iunu, he will not cross to the morning meal in Iunu."
note: Akhs (Axi) were the deceased, "whose ba has reunited with its ka, making possible eternal life as a spirit among the living." (J.P. Allen)
These alignments may represent an interconnected geometrically ordered 'network' of 'otherworld' pathways over the landscape, along which Akhs visited important sacred places, where they became 'stable', 'clean', 'ate' their 'meals' etc.
Web pages with some notes and diagrams on alignments I have found and investigated over the years:

Half sky objects were part of the Heb Sed ritual. A pair of half-sky signs combined with Shen-signs occur among objects depicted on the interior of the Middle Kingdom inner coffin of Seni. Above the signs is a hieratic label naming them mdnbw wsxt. "The word mdnbw is probably a substantive with prefixed m, derived from the verb Dnb, and meaning 'boundary', 'limit', or, more literally, 'point of turning back'." (JEA Vol. 64; Spencer 1978: 54) They were placed in the Broad Hall / Court (wsxt).
They are also depicted in Netjerkhets mortuary complex. I have some info and pics on the half sky objects here:
