No!!
It is irrelevant if the very top of the grand gallery fills with carbon monoxide and noxious fumes because nobody is ever working above the passage to the so called king's chamber. All that matter is the length of the grand gallery where the men are working is properly ventilated.

The shafts have to point in some direction.
Heated air is less dense and will go up no matter what direction the shafts are. It should be remembered though that the air will cool in the shaft andf without lower pressure at the outlet and/ or higher pressure at the inlet there will be no air flow. I believe people are misthinking the nature of these shafts and how they worked.

If the only means of creating a holy place is to use profane means then one has a choice and it is our duty to determine this choice.

Everything that happened to the king after death was cyclical just like real life which he never even left;
450a. He will rebuild N.; he will cause N. to live every day.

2062a. When N. ascends to heaven, give him this formula: "re' is good each day."
1038. when he ascends, when he lifts himself up to the sky as the great star which is in the east.
437b. and N. appears in the morning.
Just as a raindrop forms in a cloud (coils of nehebkau) the dead king comes forth every day. He is the pyramid by day and he is a star at night. This is what the Pyramid Texts literally states over and over and over.
The dead king lives every single day as the pyramid and ascends to be a star by night.
