Hello Anthony,
I’ll skip the rhetoric and bluster in your post, if you don’t mind.
You write, ‘Don't even try to pin those ideas on me. I have approached this subject with an open mind and I have judged all ideas equally and fairly.’
I only recently mentioned to Hermione that my sense of humour does not always travel well across the Pond.
Obviously, this is one occasion when it faired not at all well…
You write, ‘I don't have any original ideas.’
Er, I had noticed…
You continue, ‘ I just have the ideas that the evidence has shown is the most logical.’
And yet again, Anthony, being logical does not mean it is right.
You wrote previously, ‘The intent of the pyramid was to house the body of the king.’
I responded, ‘And your contemporary textual evidence for this being so with all (or some?) of the pyramids pre-Unas is what exactly?’
You reply, ‘It's in the mastabas that surround the pyramids in question.’
So, these mastabas contain text telling us beyond doubt that “the intent of the pyramid was to house the body of the king”, do they?
Would you care to give a specific example?
I wrote, ‘Just like everybody else, Anthony, you have no proof of anything about the intended purpose of these 4th and early 5th Dyn. pyramids, only hypotheses.
You reply, ‘Another false statement.’
Hypothesis: A proposal intended to explain certain facts or observations.
I don’t see anything at all false in that, Anthony.
You continue, ‘I have presented a collection of evidence that clearly shows the function of the pyramids in the Fourth Dynasty. Your refusal to examine the evidence or follow the logic does not preclude others from doing so.’
But my dear Anthony, it is precisely because I have examined and continue to examine the evidence that I query some of your opinions on these pyramid issues.
There are a number of things about the 4th and 5th Dyn. pyramids that strike me as being questionable, and I am far, far from alone in this.
You cannot seriously expect me to ignore these things just on your say so – now that would be refusing to examine the evidence, etc.
As for logic, I leave that to you.
I find lateral thinking much more productive and enlightening.
You write, ‘Others can judge the value of your posts for themselves.’
They already do, Anthony, they already do.
