In his revised edition of 'The Pyramids of Egypt' (1985), Dr Edwards also mentions the stellar aspect. Some Dyn. 4 pyramids had names linked with stars - the name of the pyramid of Khufu's successor Djedefra, was, 'Djedefre is a sehed-star'. A grandson of Khufu had a pyramid with the name 'Nebka is a Star'. Edwards concludes these names "clearly associate their owners with an astral after-life."
Dr Edwards also states: "The Great Pyramid was unique in making provision for the king to associate himself with both the circumpolar stars and the constellation of Orion and Sirius."
Dr Edwards knew the OK royal funerary beliefs had important solar AND stellar aspects - the two cannot be separated - even though an exclusive cult of Ra at Giza that has no place for stellar notions, has been enthusiastically promoted here on Maat by some posters.
