So what was the contingency plan for Khufu dying before, say, work started on the Ascending Passage?
Would they have built another chamber (perhaps different again in shape and size to the KC and the QC) at the level the superstructure had reached (in this scenario about 14 feet above the base) when the death occurred?
The more I think about it the more convinced I become that none of the known chambers were ever intended to be Khufu's burial place.
Yes, the Pyramid is a tomb - of sorts.
But IMO Khufu's actual burial chamber has yet to be discovered.
